What we collect, and what we don't.

What this website does not do

• No cookies. This site sets none. Nothing is stored to identify you between visits.
• No analytics. No Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no session recording, no heatmaps. We do not know how many people read this page, and this policy is why.
• One third-party request, on the home page only. Fonts, styles and everything else are served from this site. The exception is the spam check on the contact form — see below. Loading the privacy or terms page tells nobody anything.
• No advertising or tracking of any kind.

Your browser keeps your scroll position in its own session storage so the back button behaves. That stays on your device and is never sent anywhere.

The spam check on the contact form

The home page loads Cloudflare Turnstile, which works out whether a form is being filled in by a person. It is there because it had to be: two automated submissions got through the older checks in a single day, and the address on this page is the association's only way in.

It is the one script on this site served by somebody else, and we would rather say so than quietly drop the sentence above. Turnstile does not set a cookie for this, does not ask you to identify pictures of traffic lights, and is not used to follow you between sites. Cloudflare already serves every page here, so it is not a new company in the picture — but it is a request your browser makes to one, which is a different claim from the one this page used to make.

It needs JavaScript. If yours is off, the form says so rather than failing quietly, and you can write to hello@sharedacre.org instead — it reaches the same people and always will.

What we collect when you get in touch

Only what you type into the form on the home page, or put in an email to us: your name, your business, your contact details, and whatever you tell us about how you sell and what equipment you run.

Why

To reply to you, and to work out whether we can help. If your business becomes a pilot site, to set the system up and support it.

Where it goes

To the people running the association. We do not sell it, rent it, or pass it to anyone for marketing. We will not add you to a mailing list — we do not run one.

Two services handle it after that. Your enquiry is stored in a database on Cloudflare, and the email telling us it arrived is delivered by Resend, a mail provider in the United States. Resend carries the message to our inbox and keeps a delivery record of having done so; it does not use it for anything of its own. We name them because “no third parties” above is about what your browser loads, and it would be a slippery thing to leave standing on a page that also says a form sends us an email.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not go anywhere are kept while they are still useful to us and then deleted, from the database as well as the inbox. Records for active pilot sites are kept for as long as we are working together, and for as long afterwards as our record-keeping obligations require.

Having it deleted

Ask us, and we will delete it and confirm that we have: hello@sharedacre.org.

Hosting

This site runs on Cloudflare's network, which serves requests from whichever of its locations is closest to you — including, at times, a location outside Australia. That is where a page request is handled; it is not a transfer of your enquiry to a third party for their own use.

Your data in the Shared Acre platform

This page covers this website only. If your business trades on the Shared Acre platform, what that system holds about your trading and your customers is covered separately, in your agreement with us.

If something is wrong

Tell us and we will fix it. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
